An organisation that can describe itself becomes navigable.
For people and for agents. Not less complexity, but complexity you can move through.

Leafcutter OS is the foundation on which companies introduce AI agents.
Models come and go. Your way of working remains.
AI has arrived in companies — in individual teams, with their own instructions, often with remarkable success. With agents, the next stage begins: they research, prepare, review and complete cases on their own. What was a question of tools becomes a question of organisation.
Leafcutter OS is the executable organisational handbook for this. Roles, responsibilities, rules, procedures and approvals stand in it as building blocks of their own — readable for people, binding for agents, each reviewable and versioned. What changes, changes in one place and applies from the next case onward.
Agents are introduced procedure by procedure: every new building block extends what they may and can do — traceable for everyone who carries responsibility.
Models provide the intelligence, agents carry out the work. How work is done is decided by your company — whichever provider happens to lie underneath. The model can change without the way of working having to be reinvented.

Wiki and shared drive
Readable by everyone and tended by hand. A good starting point.
Five artefacts, one foundation.
Every cut follows a rule. Out of that grows a structure no single ant has to comprehend.
- foundation
Principles
Stance, tone and rules that everything else inherits. Extensions may add to them, never soften them.
- agent
Roles
Who is responsible for what, whichever person or model happens to fill the role.
- skill
Skills
Shared expertise: how a set of minutes comes about, how an application is reviewed, how a decision notice is worded.
- adapter
Adapters
How a specialist system or a tool is used, described once instead of explained again in every request.
- playbook
Playbooks
Repeatable procedures with steps, conditions and escalation. Closer to a timetable than to a checklist.
One ant carries a leaf. A colony builds a civilisation.
Leafcutter ants do not eat the leaves they carry.
They cut substrate. Deep underground they grow a fungus with it, and that fungus feeds the colony: millions of animals, dividing the work, over years, without anyone comprehending the whole. Every single cut follows a rule.
That is how organisations work with AI.
Not by everyone asking better questions, but by the same foundation lying beneath all the questions. Context, rules, decisions — tended, not documented.
Do not consume it. Cultivate it.
Leafcutter OS is that foundation.
The minutes were finished before the meeting ended. Not because the AI guessed well.
Leafcutter OS, level 4 — proof
Where we stand.
The rule set first, distribution after.
Leafcutter OS is being built. The rule set, the interfaces between the artefacts and the first domain packs are taking shape right now; there is nothing to download here yet.
That order is deliberate. A foundation everyone already builds on is hard to revise. So the rule set comes first.
If you would like to build along early: we prefer to show where we are using a handbook you already have.
Tended foundations make good work repeatable.
Across teams, roles and AI providers. We will show you using your own handbook.
